We are so excited to be able to get back to doing what we love most. Thank you to all our loyal clients for waiting patiently while we were closed due to the covid-19 pandemic. Governor Wolf has moved Allegheny County into the "green" phase beginning Friday, June 5, and we are officially open!  In order to open, we are required to comply with Health Department and PA State Board of Cosmetology regulations, both for the Isle of You team and for your safety.  Below is some information you need to know about booking appointments and receiving services in the Studio.

  • Everyone, staff and guests, must wear a face covering while in the salon. We will have disposable masks available for purchase at our cost, for guests who arrive without one. IF YOU ARE RECEIVING COLOR SERVICES, please arrive with a disposable mask! We can not be responsible for color stains on cloth face coverings.

  • Please don’t bring anyone with you who isn’t receiving services. We must adhere to occupancy limits and no one is permitted to wait in our lobby.

  • Bring your phone or a tablet, or computer, if you’d like to work or read during your appointment. Unfortunately, per CDC and PA Dept of Health guidance, our usual selection of magazines will not be available, but you are welcome- as always- to use our complimentary WiFi. 

  • We can complete much of your service, including check out and rebooking, from the comfort of your chair, using the salon’s iPads and our touchless checkout. We encourage everyone to use our secure “card on file” feature, which will allow your stylist to complete your touchless checkout at the chair. You will be asked if you would like to take advantage of this feature when your appointment is booked. Of course, we can still accept cash if you prefer, and tips can be sent directly to your stylist via our Tippy portal.  

Safety measures Isle of You is taking to protect you, and ourselves

At Isle of You Hair Color Studio, you can expect to see our staff cleaning frequently touched surfaces more often, including doorknobs, countertops, phones, iPads and keypads, as well as the tools and equipment we use to perform services. It’s our commitment to keeping you, and ourselves, safe and healthy. Here's what else we're doing. 

  • No one who is exhibiting symptoms of Covid-19 will be permitted in the salon. Employees who are sick or become ill during their shift will be sent home. Guests are encouraged to reschedule if they don’t feel well, and all late cancelation fees are temporarily suspended. Anyone who has a fever or symptoms of illness will be refused service and asked to reschedule.

  • In addition to our established, thorough disinfection protocols, all Isle of You Staff have completed the Barbicide Covid-19 certification training and the comprehensive, 2 hour Infection Control Milady certification.

  • Every staff member is temperature checked upon arrival for their work shift.

  • All staff will wear face covering while working on guests, and when closer than 6 feet to coworkers.

  • All surfaces are cleaned and disinfected between each guest. You can relax, confident that everything you will touch has been cleaned and disinfected.

  • All equipment used by a service provider will be cleaned and sanitized between each guest.

  • All capes and linens are (and have ALWAYS been) fresh and clean for each guest and are laundered and sanitized after each use.  

  • Capacity of the salon will be limited, and only half the stations will be used, to keep appropriate distance between guests.

  • Appointments will be scheduled with a little more time between them, to allow enough time to thoroughly clean and disinfect between guests.

  • We are adding express services (such as an express touchup- just roots, rinse and go! No cut or styling.) for those who want to minimize their time in the salon and exposure to others.

  • Doors and other common areas will be disinfected regularly.

If, even with our policies and guidelines, you are uncomfortable with receiving services in a salon setting with other people around, we strongly suggest requesting early or late appointment times, when fewer people will be in the salon. Or, our private room is available for those who are high risk, or who simply prefer more social distance for now. Also consider our express services menu to minimize your time in the salon.

We can all do our part to prevent the spread of illness in our community. You can do your part by staying home and rescheduling if you feel sick. Symptoms may appear 2-14 days after exposure, and include fever, cough, and shortness of breath. If you are healthy, we look forward to seeing you!

Creative color can no longer be booked online. If you want a creative color appointment please call the Studio. If your hair needs to be lightened first, you MUST book a double process all over (more than 1/2" outgrowth) or touch up (1/2" or less outgrowth) FIRST, before creative color can be done.
